Anthony Hunter began tattooing in October 1993 out of a squad bay in Okinawa Japan while on deployment with Alpha Co. 1/3. His first customer was automatic rifleman Matthew Hingston of Michigan. Anthony was his "A" gunner. His second customer was Dean Holmquist aka Q. from Chicago Il. It became a blur after those two as an infinite line of takers ensued.

After honorably discharging from the Marine Corps. in 1998, he landed a job tattooing with Lisa in Kaneohe at Skin FX Tattoo where thanks to her sharing with him her knowledge he was able to hone his skills as a tattooer. He met his lovely wife Carey while ordering food from her fathers restaurant, Windward Poi Bowl, After a brief stint at Skin Deep in Waikiki they moved on to open Clean Sting Tattoo in 2004. While adventuring in California from 2006 to 2009 Anthony was fortunate to work alongside Greg Griffin at Body Graphics Tattoo and subsequently absorbing a wealth of knowledge on the day to day operations of a business as well as the importance of being dedicated to the craft and continual self improvement. In 2009, thanks to Tim Goodrich of Aloha Tattoo, Anthony rotated back to Kailua and was blessed with being able to work once again with the Marines and Sailors of K bay that had helped him get his start. Six days a week you can find Anthony slinging ink at Hula Girl Tattoo. While he's not tattooing, Anthony likes to draw and paint, learn new things, and enjoy time with his wonderful wife and three kids. Thank you all for your support. Aloha!
